Our Story
The Amethyst Cathedral - previously known as “This Is It Universe” - was created by Elisabeth Michael over 35 years ago!
As a little girl, Elisabeth escaped with her Mother and Sister from their native Berlin during the Second World War. They found refuge with distant relations in England.
Elisabeth then trained in painting at art college and pursued a career in women’s fashion, beginning at Marks and Spencers and eventually opening her own clothing store in Crieff, Scotland. Her passion for art, colour, nature and healing inspired her to begin buying and selling crystals alongside her clothing. This is where the shop began to grow.
For nearly four decades Elisabeth served customers from far and wide, trading in high quality crystals from around the world. Her passion allowed her to work in her shop into her mid-80s!

Now aged 90, Elisabeth has passed the baton to her great-niece Lhamo Grace.
Just like her auntie Bessie, Lhamo is a creative and a healer.
Lhamo and her team at The Amethyst Cathedral have now brought her Aunt's collection primarily online and as a supplier for other shops. Our intention is to continue growing and sharing Elisabeth's high quality and ethically sourced findings.
